BATON ROUGE-  Governor Bobby Jindal says the new LSU Medical Education and Innovation Center at Our Lady of the Lake will meet several of the state's needs.

Governor Jindal says it will help deliver continuous care for the poor, and also save taxpayer money.  He says Earl K Long Hospital is well beyond its lifespan, and building a new hospital would have cost $400 million dollars.

LSU Interim Chancellor William Jenkins says the new clinic will help meet the growing technology needs.  By 2013, an estimated 250 medical professionals will be training at the site.
