LSU Lady Tigers in a tight game at half of NCAA Tournament opener
The LSU Lady Tiger basketball team lead the Green Bay Phoenix 32-27 at halftime of their opening game of the NCAA Tournament at the Maravich Center.
The Lady Tigers finished the half on a 9-3 run to separate an otherwise tightly contested game. LSU is led by freshman guard Danielle Ballard with eight points, junior forward Theresa Plaisance is second on the team with seven.
The Lady Tigers have held up their end of the perimeter shooting contest with a 4-7 performance, while Green Bay has clearly decided they don't want to test the Lady Tiger defense inside. The Phoenix are 6-14 for 43% from behind the arc.
