
The Tiger hoops team improved to 2-0 with a 56-45 victory tonight in the 2009 Dick's Sporting goods NIT Season Tip-Off. Storm Warren led LSU with a double-double, registering 14 points and 12 rebounds. It was an off shooting night for the Tigers, who hit just 34.3 percent of their shots, while going 0-15 from beyond the arc.
Bo Spencer added 10 points for LSU, with Tasmin Mitchell grabbing 14 rebounds to go along with his 8 points. Defensively, the Tigers held Indiana St. to just 30.2 percent shooting, while forcing 12 turnovers. LSU also outrebounded the opposition 50-28.
LSU returns to action tomorrow night to face Western Kentucky. A victory would send the Tigers to New York for Thanksgiving to compete in Madison Square Garden.
