LSU holds on to beat Arkansas 20-13, improves to 10-2
The LSU Tigers held off a second half rally by the hometown Arkansas Razorbacks to win their 10th game of the season with the 20-13 win on Friday in Fayetteville.
The Hogs outscored LSU 13-10 in the second half, however LSU made the plays when they needed converting on a big third down connection between QB Zach Mettenberger and receiver Odell Beckham Junior for a 47 yard connection on third and ten near midfield.
The young LSU Defense proved they were up to the challenge as Arkansas got the ball back with 1:30 left in the game, as they gave up some yardage but held the Hogs off the scoreboard for the tying touchdown.
LSU will now wait and watch the rest of the SEC schedule to find out if they will be playing next Saturday in Atlanta at the SEC Championship game, needing an Alabama loss to Auburn and a Texas A&M win over Missouri to make the conference title game.
Even if the Tigers do not play in Atlanta, they still have an outside chance at making it into a BCS Bowl game should FSU beat Florida tomorrow.
