LSU has one of largest freshman classes ever
BATON ROUGE- During the same week LSU was named a top tier university by U.S. News & World Report for the fourth straight year, fall enrollment figures show the school brought in another large freshman class.
The 2011 freshman class is composed of 5,290 students, making it one of LSU's largest freshman classes ever, despite the university's budget cuts over the past few years and having several million dollars less in scholarship funds to give to new students.
Since LSU implemented admission standards in 1988, this year's freshman class is the fourth largest, behind the classes in 2004, 2010 and 2003.
The full 2011 enrollment report will be available on LSU's Office of Budget and Planning website: http://www.bgtplan.lsu.edu/.
