LSU gymnastics set to host NCAA regionals
Fresh off their third place showing in the SEC Championship, the LSU gymnastics team will host the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional as the No. 3 national seed on April 5 in the Maravich Center the NCAA announced Monday.
The Tigers will host five other teams, No. 10 overall seed Stanford, No. 13 Auburn, Arizona, Kent State and Iowa State.
This marks LSU's 30th straight NCAA regional berth and the 32nd overall in school history. It is also the first time the Tigers have hosted a regional since 2008 and the 10th time in program history.
LSU (15-5) is seeking its 13th overall regional title and second in a row after the Tigers captured the 2013 Columbus (OH) Regional crown.
The two teams with the highest scores at the end of the regional will advance to the NCAA Championships in Birmingham, Ala., on April 18-20.
