LSU gymnastics prepares for SEC tournament
BATON ROUGE - The LSU gymnastics team has its sights set on winning an SEC title this weekend, but once again the competition will be the toughest in the country.
LSU will join gym powerhouses Florida, Georgia and Alabama in Birmingham this weekend and DD Breaux's team will try to top three programs who have combined for 8 of the past 9 national championships.
"We've finished second and third a lot of times," said Breaux, who led the Tigers to their only conference title back in 1981. "This group feels like they're special and that they can win this thing."
LSU will open on the bars and end of the vault in Birmingham, and the team says they like that rotation because it gives LSU a chance to finish on their top two events.
