LSU gymnastics enters final week preparations for nationals
BATON ROUGE - With the NCAA gymnastics national championships just a few days away, the 4th seeded LSU Tigers are making their final preparations before they head to Ft. Worth, Texas.
"Stay mentally sharp, stay physically rested, because we're not going to do a lot of numbers this week," said Tigers head coach DD Breaux on Monday afternoon.
"We're going to prepare ourselves kind of how we prepared ourselves for last Thursday and Friday."
That was a mock national championship (i.e. intrasquad meet) where the Tigers tried to replicate the timetable of their national meet schedule.
Breaux said the practice sessions went well and the Tigers now just need to sharpen their mental approach ahead of the mental championships.
"I know that gymnastics wise, everything that we have is there," said Tigers gymnast Ashleigh Gnat.
"Everything that we've prepared for this whole season is ready. And I think that this team is more ready than ever."
