LSU golf beats Georgia in national semis, will face Southern Cal for national title
Bradenton, FL - The LSU golf team defeated Georgia in the national semifinals, and now they are one win away from capturing their fifth national title in program history.
The Tigers got a battle from the Bulldogs at Concession Golf Club, as the best-of-five match play series was evenly split most of the day, but the Tigers prevailed with a 3 1/2 - 1 1/2 victory.
The Tigers got their first win from Zach Wright in dominating fashion, as he won 7&6.
Next, Eric Ricard captured a 4&3 win with a 30 foot putt at the 15th to close out the victory.
Finally, Ben Taylor clinched the match on the 18th, as his opponent Zach Healy conceded the match to Taylor on the final green.
Brandon Pierce halved his match and Stewart Jolly lost for the Tigers, who now move on to face Southern California for the national championship on Wednesday morning.
