BATON ROUGE - Tiger baseball has another accomplishment in its belt after LSU freshman, Alex Bregman has been invited to join Team USA baseball this summer.

Bregman has had a good season this so far, leading the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in hits, triples and runs scored. He is second in the batting average, behind teammate Mason Katz.

Coach Paul Mainieri said, "He is a great player, but he also is a young man of impeccable character who exemplifies the values of dedication and a strong work ethic."

Bregman is scheduled to join Team USA in late June for the 33-game tour that includes stops in Japan and games against the Cuban national team.
