LSU football not the only Tigers program with 5 star freshman
BATON ROUGE - Jorian Baucom signed her National Letter of Intent with the LSU Tigers in February as one of the most feared striker recruits in the country in the Class of 2014, and she has already been recognized among the NCAA's top rookies as one of 11 players nationwide named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Freshman Preseason Best XI Team.
A five-star recruit from Pinnacle High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, Baucom signed with the Tigers as the No. 13-ranked recruit nationally regardless of position by TopDrawerSoccer.com. She was also tabbed the No. 3-ranked striker recruit in the country and the No. 1-ranked recruit in the Rocky Mountain & Southwest Region by the online publication.
Baucom is one of the jewels in the crown for one of the Top 10 recruiting class in the NCAA as LSU's Class of 2014 earned a No. 7 national ranking by TopDrawerSoccer.com on National Signing Day.
The Tigers are set to welcome a heralded recruiting class to campus on Tuesday, Aug. 12, for the start of preseason training as Baucom will report with six other true freshmen in midfielders Christyna Pitre (Austin, Texas) and Madeline Ramsey (Rock Hill, South Carolina); defenders Jordane Carvery (Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada), Alexis Urch (Round Rock, Texas) and Ella Williams (Leatherhead, Surrey, England); and goalkeeper Lily Alfeld (Christchurch, New Zealand).
The Tigers will also welcome two transfers into the program for the 2014 collegiate season in former City College of San Francisco defender Emma Meckfessel and former Ohio State midfielder Kristen Pavlick.
