BATON ROUGE- Some LSU fans say the possible suspension of three football players is another black eye for the program, and some worry it could hurt the chances for a win over Auburn.
"I'm sick about it. It's like they're thumbing their nose at authority," LSU fan Linda Mitchell said.
The Associated Press reported that LSU suspended star cornerback Tyrann Mathieu, along with defensive back Therold Simon and running back Spencer Ware for breaking team rules.
Les Miles kept very tight-lipped at his 6 p.m. weekly press conference today when asked about the suspension of the players.
"I'm not inclined to be forthcoming in information," Miles said to the media. "I'm not reactionary to needs of media and things external to this building."
Fans say they expect other team members to step up as leaders both on and off the field.
"We have a lot of guys that are going to step up and do what they need to do. You have to give the whole team a lot of credit for pulling together, and I'm sure they will pull it together again," LSU fan Jan Skelton said.
Number one ranked LSU is favored to win over No. 19 Auburn this Saturday at Tiger Stadium.
