BATON ROUGE -Sam Houston State has jumped on LSU 5-1 in the first inning, taking advantage of a controversial call and some Tigers errors.

Alex Bregman started the first inning fireworks off with a long fly ball to right-center field that appeared to possibly clear the outfield wall, but the umpires ruled it a ground-rule double. Bregman would eventually score on a bases-loaded walk to make it 1-0 LSU.

The Bearkats immediately responded in the bottom half of the first with five runs on a walk and three LSU errors. Tiger ace Aaron Nola threw 42 pitches in the first inning.
