LSU's fall enrollment has dipped below 28,000 students for the first time in 12 years. Despite LSU's freshman applications increasing by 50 percent this decade, the overall enrollment is continuing a slow decline since LSU peaked at more than 31,500 students just five years ago. At LSU's main campus, the university actually had a 4 percent hike in graduate students. There are 27,992 total students enrolled at LSU.
