LSU eliminated from CWS with 8-4 loss to TCU
OMAHA - The LSU Tiger baseball team started hot, but faded in their rematch bid against the TCU Horned Frogs as they fall 8-4.
LSU tied the game at 3 in the third inning, but TCU reliever Trey Teakell followed by retiring ten straight Tiger batters to shut down the offense.
The Horned Frogs rallied in the sixth with a pair of shots to the right field corner that scored three runs to make it a 6-3 TCU lead.
The Tigers offense began when leftfiedler Jake Fraley drew an 11 pitch walk and then Kade Scivicque singled him home from second with a shot through the right side. LSU led 1-0 early after one, as six batters went to the plate.
Starting LSU pitcher Zac Person ran into some trouble in the third inning when he loaded the bases and then walked in Keaton Jones with the bases loaded to tie the game at 1.
Nine hole hitter and second baseman Garrett Crain then drove in two runs with a shot past first base for the Frogs to stake TCU to a 3-1 lead.
LSU rallied in the next inning as Jake Fraley roped an RBI triple to deep centerfield scoring Alex Bregman.
Fraley then scored on the next pitch when a wild pitch got past the catcher.
The Tigers finish the season with a record of 54-12.
