BATON ROUGE - Washington's potent scoring attack was no match for LSU's speed and aggressiveness on defense, and the Tigers scored 41 consecutive points en route to a 41-3 victory.
LSU tied a school record with its 19th straight home win. The Tigers also matched the NCAA record for consecutive wins against non-conference opponents in the regular season at 39.
Alfred Blue led the ground game with 14 carries for 101 yards and a score. Quarterback Zach Mettenberger connected on 12-of-18 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown.
Third-ranked LSU is now 2-0 on the season and will host Idaho next Saturday night at 7:00 in Death Valley.
