LSU Chancellor approached by another school
BATON ROUGE - Another school is interested in LSU's chancellor, Dr. Michael Martin.
Martin confirmed to News 2 he had been approached by another school, but declined to say which one.
"I was approached by another university about a leadership position and agreed to listen to what they had to say," Martin said in an emailed statement. "I have not received nor have I sought an offer from any other university."
Martin has been chancellor for four years. He previously worked as president of New Mexico State University, and before that held positions at the University of Florida.
Since his arrival Martin has had to navigate numerous funding cuts to higher education after repeated state budget shortfalls, which led to the elimination of some degree programs at LSU.
