LSU Board of Supervisors approves ticket price increase
BATON ROUGE- The LSU Board of Supervisors has decided to boost ticket prices for athletic events at the university.
These include a ticket price hike for the 2014 football season and 2015 baseball season.
There's no word on exactly how much they will increase, but the changes are estimated to raise about $2.3 million in the current budget year and grow to $4 million a year later.
LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva says his department needs the money to keep up with rising costs for salaries, benefits, travel and athlete scholarships.
The athletic department also stands to gain millions in new revenue from a new TV contract slated to begin next year.
