LSU baseball ranked No. 1, Nola honored
BATON ROUGE - LSU baseball received a number one ranking in the Collegiate Baseball magazine poll released Monday.
The Tigers defeated Texas Southern 4-1 Sunday night at Alex Box Stadium to maintain their perfect 7-0 record.
The magazine also named LSU junior Aaron Nola their National Pitcher of the Week after his performance this past weekend. He pitched seven perfect innings against Virginia Tech Friday before leaving the game due to a pitch count restriction. Nola has a 0.00 ERA in 13 innings with one walk and 14 strikeouts.
LSU will host No. 13 Louisiana-Lafayette Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. in Baton Rouge.
