LSU Baseball opens season with 4-1 win over Kansas
BATON ROUGE - College Baseball is back in Baton Rouge.
Number four LSU opening the season with a 4-1 victory over Kansas. The win marking the 14th straight time the Tigers have won opening day.
LSU sophomore left-hander Jared Poche' earned the opening night win, his 10th of his career, with six scoreless innings. Poche' allowed only two hits and struck out five batters with one walk.
He received a big boost of run support in the 2nd, when catcher Kade Scivicque knocked out a two out, 3-run homer to put the Tigers up 3-0. In the 3rd inning, Chris Chinea added an R-B-I single to give LSU a 4-0 lead.
The Tigers will be back in action against the Jayhawks tomorrow at 2 p.m.
