LSU baseball gets No. 2 national seed
BATON ROUGE - The NCAA listed LSU as the second-highest ranked team in the nation Monday as the Tigers prepare for regional play.
The Tigers (48-10, 21-8 SEC) were listed just behind the UCLA Bruins (42-13, 22-7 PAC 12) in the rankings and will host a regional for the 23rd time in school history.
LSU will host Lehigh, Tulane, and the University of North Caorlina Wilmington in their regional tournament this coming weekend. LSU will take on No. 4 Lehigh Friday at 3 p.m., and No. 3 Tulane will face No. 2 UNCW.
The Baton Rouge Regional is paired up with the Houston Regional. The two winners of those regionals will play for a trip to the College World Series.
