LSU baseball completes sweep of BC with 16-2 win
BATON ROUGE - The LSU baseball team finished off a truncated series against Boston College in convincing fashion, churning out 21 hits and beating the Eagles 16-2.
The win completes a 3 game series sweep in 2 days, as the Tigers and Eagles pushed up the series to avoid expected inclement weather on Sunday.
Alex Bregman led the way at the plate, going 3-6 with a home run and 4 RBI, while Kade Scivicque hit 2 home runs of his own as the Tigers scored in each of the first 6 innings, and 7 out of 8 total.
Freshman pitcher Jake Godfrey (1-0) got his first career win for the Tigers, giving up just 4 hits in 5 innings while striking out one batter and giving up one earned run.
The Tigers (6-1) are back on the field Wednesday against Southeastern, with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 pm.
