BATON ROUGE- LSU Police are investigating an attempted abduction that happened just after 7p.m. in a parking lot near Patrick F. Taylor Hall.

Police said a woman was walking to her car in the parking lot when she spotted a man get out of a black van and approach her. The man grabbed the woman by the arm, but she was able to break free and run away.

Police said the man got back into a "box-style" black van with tinted windows and side doors then fled toward Nicholson Drive.

The woman made her way to the LSU Police Department around 7:30, where she reported the attempted abduction.

Police issued a campus wide alert just minutes later, warning students to use caution in the area.

The woman was not hurt.

Police said the man was a black male wearing baggy cargo pants, had a receding hair line, and shaved cuts into his eyebrows.
