LSP say Zachary woman killed in NYE crash
ZACHARY - State Police said a Zachary woman wasn't wearing a seat belt when she was killed in a three-vehicle wreck overnight in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Troopers said 45-year-old Joycelyn Tennart died in the wreck on US 61 north of LA 64 around 8 p.m.
LSP said Tennart was going east on West Flanacher Road and failed to yield at the intersection with US 61. Troopers said Tennart drove into the path of an oncoming pickup and was hit on the driver's side. The wreck forced both vehicles into the other lane of US 61, where they hit an SUV.
Investigators said Tennart was not properly restrained and died from her injuries at the scene. The other two drivers were wearing their seat belts and had moderate injuries.
Troopers said blood samples were taken from all three drivers for tox screens.
