LSP: Man killed after hitting dump truck head-on
SORRENTO - State Police said a Napoleonville man died after hitting a dump truck head-on with his car Tuesday morning.
Troopers said Shelby G. Johnson, 36, crossed the center line for unknown reasons and hit the dump truck while driving along LA 70 in Ascension Parish around 10 a.m.
State Police said despite the fact Johnson was wearing his seat belt, he died at the scene. The dump truck driver was not injured.
Troopers said they don't suspect impairment was a factor for either driver, but took blood samples for analysis.
