LSP: man driving speeding luxury car causes deadly crash
HAMMOND- State Police arrested a man for causing a deadly crash on I-55 near I-12 Monday.
Clifford Durio, 31, was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish jail on a list of charges, including negligent homicide, negligent injuring, reckless operation, felon in possession of a firearm, and driving under suspension.
Troopers said Durio was speeding southbound on I-55 when he lost control and flipped his vehicle. As his luxury car flipped in the air, it smashed into a car killing the driver of that vehicle and injuring a second person inside.
Gussie Miller, 60, of Independence died.
"Speed was determined to be a major contributing factor on Durio's part," Trooper Greg Marchand said in a news release.
