LSP identify victim of I-10 fatal crash
GROSSE TETE - State police identified a man killed in a single-vehicle wreck Friday morning on I-10 in Iberville Parish.
Authorities said Michael R. Flournoy, 58, died in the wreck on I-10 East near Grosse Tete. Troopers said Flournoy lost control of his truck, ran off the road and hit a tree on the driver's side.
Investigators said Flournoy was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. They said even though it was raining when he ran off the road, investigators don't know if bad weather was a factor in the crash.
Alcohol is not suspected as a cause of the wreck, but toxicology samples from Flournoy have been sent to the LSP Crime Lab according to investigators.
