LSP: Cyclist killed by hit-and-run driver

GONZALES - State Police said a mail carrier found a bicycle rider today who'd been killed by a hit-and-run driver in Ascension Parish.
Trooper Jared Sandifer said it happened on LA 934 east of LA 44, which is north of Gonzales. Sandifer said the cyclist was going east on LA 934 when they were hit by the vehicle, which left the scene.
Sandifer said the victim was found this morning by a mail carrier, and was wearing a reflective vest. They did not know what time the actual wreck happened.
News 2 crews are on the scene and will have more details tonight starting at 4 p.m.
