LSMSA to close for one week due to flu
The Louisiana School for Math, Science & the Arts will voluntarily close for one week due to increased flu cases among their student body.
The number of students with the flu has risen from two to eight since Sept. 10. The school administration decided to close in hopes that students will have enough time to recuperate. The flu cases have been mild. The school hopes the closing will break the cycle of infection.
Residence halls will close at 5 p.m. this Sunday, Sept. 20. It will reopen at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27. Students who are still not well by Sept. 27 are asked to stay home until they are well.
