LIVINGSTON - Authorities in Livingston Parish reminded drivers that school starts tomorrow in the parish, and with it comes a number of different traffic changes.

LPSO spokesperson Lori Steele said deputies and other law enforcement agencies will be out enforcing all school zone laws tomorrow, including speed limits and safety violations.

"School zone speeds do vary. You need to pay close attention to the posted speed limit and the times the school zones are in effect," Steele said in a press release.

Drivers were also warned to watch for children everywhere: at crossing guards, getting off buses or out of vehicles, or walking and riding their bikes to school. Buses would also make frequent stops throughout the parish, and stop at all railroad crossings.

Drivers should prepare for delays and add extra time to their daily commute in anticipation for these delays.

"We want this school year to be a great one and would like to encourage everyone to drive safely," Steele said.
