WALKER - Sheriff's deputies arrested a Walker man they said was burned while cooking methamphetamine at his home earlier this week.

Livingston Parish Sheriff's deputies arrested Patrick Servat, 27, after he was released from the hospital Thursday.

Investigators said they were called out to Servat's one-bedroom apartment on Carpenter Lane Monday, after a fire completely destroyed the residence and firefighters found suspicious items in the wreckage.

Detectives said their investigation found meth was being made in the apartment. They said interviews with Servat and others who were present when the fire started revealed something went wrong with the meth-making process, which caused the fire.

Deputies booked Servat on charges of manufacturing meth. A bond was set at $100,000.

The sheriff's office says their investigation is continuing, and more arrests are expected.
