LPSO: 18 cartons of cigarettes stolen in Albany
ALBANY - Sheriff's deputies in Livingston Parish are looking for two men wanted in connection with a convenience store cigarette carton caper that happened in Albany late last month.
Detectives said the theft took place at the Big River Shell convenience store on Highway 43 at around 7 p.m. on Jan. 29. Surveillance video recorded the two suspects as they entered the store, headed for the office and stuffed a total of 18 cartons of cigarettes into their shirts and pants.
The two men left the store fled the scene in a white two-door car with loot valued at approximately $800.
Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office at (225) 686-2241.
