BATON ROUGE - It's been five months since local teacher Sylviane Finch Lozada went missing. Now friends are desperate for information about the case, and say they're not getting any answers from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office.
"We're in the process of hiring a private investigator to hopefully get some information of what's going on in the case," said Karen Wooley, a close friend of Lozada.
For months News 2 has asked the sheriff's office for information on where the investigation stands. The responses we've received have been "nothing", "nothing new" and "no, sir".
A sheriff's office spokesperson plans to speak with detectives tomorrow about any new information that can be released.
Wooley among others are asking for help in finding and hiring a private investigator. If you'd like to help, email Karen at Karen.Wooley@wbrschools.net.
You can also make a donation to the Sylviane Finch Lozada Fund at American Gateway Bank. That money will go toward hiring an investigator.
