Loupe looms near top of Texas Open leaderboard
SAN ANTONIO - Former LSU standout Andrew Loupe fired a 70 on day 2 of the Valero Texas Open, and remains in the hunt for a championship just one shot behind the leader.
Loupe shot a 67 in a first round effort that spanned two days. He then returned later Friday to solidify his stellar opening round with one that included 5 birdies and 3 bogeys.
The leader at TPC San Antonio is Steven Bowditch, who shot a five-under 67 in the second round to take a 1 stroke lead into the clubhouse.
