BATON ROUGE- Governor Bobby Jindal asked the state to observe a moment of silence, to honor the victims of a school shooting on Connecticut.

The silence is set for 9:30 A.M. local time.

Twenty-six people were killed, many elementary school children, when a gunman opened fire inside a school last Friday.

The governor of Connecticut asked that states share in the memorial by ringing bells at churches and government buildings.

"Good Morning America," ABC's top-rated morning news program will carry the East coast observance live at 8:30 A.M. CST. WBRZ airs "GMA" weekdays from 7 A.M. to 9 A.M.
