Louisiana soldiers return home from Gitmo
PINEVILLE - Some Louisiana-based soldiers arrived home to a warm welcome Friday.
Members of the 228th Military Police unit reunited with their families after a year at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.
The soldiers were doing security operations at the base. They said they're happy to be home with those they love, including kids they haven't seen in quite some time.
"And them being so young, you know. It's just hard... Knowing that they're growing up and you're not there," said Ian Harrison.
The unit is based at Camp Beauregard in Pineville.
