NEW ORLEANS - State labor officials say Louisiana's employment growth pace has risen a bit in October as the state recorded 19,200 non-farm jobs more than in October 2009.
The Louisiana Workforce Commission said Tuesday that over the past 12 months, 17,900 jobs have been added to the service sector. The goods-producing sector - including petroleum, manufacturing and construction - has grown by 1,300 jobs.
From September 2009 to September 2010, the non-farm job count rose by 13,300.
From September to October, on a non-seasonally adjusted basis, the state recorded 6,200 more jobs.
