Louisiana must put two dads' names on birth certificate
The federal appeals court in New Orleans has ruled that Louisiana must put two dads' names on a revised birth certificate of a boy adopted by a gay couple.
Oren Adar and Mickey Ray Smith,a couple from San Diego, Ca., adopted a boy in New York in 2006. The child was born in Shreveport in 2005.
Previously, state attorneys argued that since unmarried couples cannot adopt in Louisiana, only one name could be on the certificate.
