Logger arrested in Denham Springs
DENHAM SPRINGS- A logger from Livingston Parish is behind bars after police say he failed to pay for forest products.
Authorities say Alison Suggs Jr. did not pay a Geismar landowner for harvested timber. After an investigation, officials learned that Suggs failed to pay the owner nearly $12,000 for timber Suggs was contracted to cut and sell.
Suggs cut more than 180 acres of hardwood timber on two separate tracts two years ago. That's when he failed to pay up.
Suggs was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail Complex in Donaldsonville.
