Local offices, issues decided in general election

Several local issues and offices were decided in the general election tonight.

All local issues passed, including a 1.25 millage increase for East Baton Rouge St. George Fire Department and a crime prevention fee for residents of Shenandoah Estates in East Baton Rouge.

Here's a list of local races and the winners:

  • Zachary Mayor: David Amrhein with 56% of votes
  • New Roads Mayor: Robert A. Myer with 53% of votes
  • East Feliciana Police Juror: Jason H. McCray with 53% of votes
  • East Feliciana Wilson Mayor: Marilyn Broadway with 61% of votes
  • East Feliciana Wilson Alderman: Georgia Honore with 56% of votes
  • Iberville School Board District A: Donald Ray Patterson with 56% of votes
  • Iberville Maringouin Alderman: Edward James, Jr. with 52% of votes
  • St. Helena School Board District 1: Joyce Porter with 54% of votes
  • St. Helena School Board District 5: Virginia Bell with 65% of votes
  • St. Mary Baldwin Aldermen: Clarence A. Vappie with 27% of votes; Tony J. Gibson with 26% of votes
