BATON ROUGE - A Convoy of Care has arrived in Baton Rouge from Atlanta with six 18-wheelers filled to the brim with relief supplies.

The convoy will wrap up when it arrives at the National Guard Armory near Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport at 10 a.m.

Last Saturday, an outpouring of support came from the citizens of Atlanta when they showed up in droves to donate relief supplies at the Atlanta Civic Center. The Georgia Motor Trucking Association loaned six of their tractor trailers to the cause to bring the supplies to flood-stricken Baton Rouge.

The items will be distributed to nonprofit organizations in Baton Rouge so that these critical supplies can be quickly given out to residents that need them. The supplies include:

Toiletries, Toothpaste, Deodorant, Soap, Body wash
Cleaning Supplies, Bleach,
Baby Formula, Diapers, Feminine Wash
Bath Towels, Wash cloths, laundry detergent
Paper products (toilet paper, paper towels etc.)
Underwear, Undershirts, Socks,
Dog Food, Toys, Pillows, Bed sheets

Local law enforcement leaders and executives from the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement will be on hand to accept the supplies when the convoy reaches its destination.
