LIVINGSTON- To fill the position of superintendent, school system leaders only had to promote someone.

The selection for the system's next leader was made from with-in the system, John Watson. Watson is the current Assistant Superintendent for the Livingston Parish School System.

The school board made the decision Thursday night.

Watson replaces Bill Spear who retires Friday.
