Livingston Parish toddler drowns in goldfish pond
DENHAM SPRINGS - An 18-month-old girl drowned in a Livingston Parish pond in a "tragic accident" yesterday, according to sheriff's deputies.
Chief Perry Rushing with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said 18-month-old Alivia Blount was pronounced dead at a local hospital, after emergency responders were unable to revive her.
Rushing said Blount was playing in the backyard of their home when she got out of her mother's line of sight. When they found her, she was submerged in a goldfish pond.
He said the case is still under investigation.
