ALBANY- Livingston Parish lands at least 40 new jobs with the introduction of Quality Iron of Louisiana, a company that manufactures and sells iron products.

The company chose Livingston because of its location and people.

"It's a great location, but it's on the far side of Livingston Parish, with all the growth that normally takes place over in Denham and Walker and Watson area, this is starting to bridge the gap, we're gonna start to see more and more of this I think as the year moves forward," said Parish President Layton Ricks.

"As soon as we get the fabrication facility, the range of jobs are from your welders to fitters machinery operators, up to your project managers and detailers and so forth and we're looking for all of that to come locally," said Brian Eason of Quality Iron.

The plant hopes to open its initial phase by August and then plans to ramp up expansion, increasing their size to 250 jobs within five years.
