LIVINGSTON – A sheriff's deputy was cleared of any wrongdoing following a month-long investigation about reported illegal activity.

WBRZ.com previously reported State Police were assisting in the investigation involving a Livingston Parish Sheriff's deputy.

In late October, Sheriff Jason Ard confirmed details of the investigation:

“My office has received allegations of misconduct of one of my deputies.  My office is investigating these allegations along with the Louisiana State Police and the Louisiana State Police crime lab.

As is the protocol of my office, the deputy against whom these allegations have been made is on suspension pending the completion of the investigation.”

In late November, WBRZ learned investigators determined the claims were unfounded.
