WATSON - Livingston Parish sheriff's deputies said a child was hit by a car and died in Watson.

Sheriff's office spokesperson Lore Steele said 6-year-old Tyler Myers was playing on a scooter in the Lakes at Belle Terre subdivision Monday evening when he was hit by a vehicle pulling into a driveway.

Steele said Myers was flown to a Baton Rouge hospital, where he died.

She said the driver was returning home and pulling into his driveway when he hit Myers. Investigators didn't charge him with anything, and Steele said it appears to have been an accident but that the investigation was continuing.

News 2's Rob Krieger will have more information tonight on News 2 at 5 and 6.
