Arrest part of child porn crackdown in Livingston Parish
DENHAM SPRINGS - In Livingston Parish a crackdown on child porn lands a 70-year-old man behind bars.
William Nason was arrested at his home in Denham Springs Wednesday. Investigators say he had hundreds of pornographic pictures of children on his computer.
According to Denham Springs City Marshal's Office, this is the first of many anticipated arrests in a statewide taskforce designed to catch sex predators.
Marshal Jerry Denton is staying tightlipped about how they are finding these accused predators, because he says he doesn't want to tip them off. He did say parents should take certain steps to prevent their child from making contact with a predator.
"Know what your children are doing," Denton said. "Don't be afraid to get in their business to find out what they are looking at online. Who they are communicating with, who they are texting with. The role of a vigilant parent is to look over their shoulder and make sure they're protected."
The Baton Rouge Constable's Office is also involved with this investigation.
