Livingston, Ascension parishes ready for possible flooding

LIVINGSTON - Emergency officials in Livingston and Ascension parishes said they're getting assets ready in case of flash flooding or other sever weather tonight or tomorrow.

Livingston Parish said sandbags are available in the following locations for their residents:

Fire Dist 9 (23634 HWY 22)
Fire Dist 8 (Hwy 16/Keller Ln
Fire Dist 5 (Florida/Eden Church Rd)
Fire Dist 1 (Hwy 43/Montpelier)

Ascension Parish emergency officials said they're not putting out sand for bags at this time, but they're ready if the need arises. They told residents to keep on eye on social media channels for notifications if sandbags are made available.

Ascension Parish residents can also call the parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness at (225) 621-8360 if they need assistance.

Nearly all of the WBRZ viewing area is under Flash Flood and Tornado watches through Wednesday morning. More details on the possibility of severe weather can be found here.
