Litter bugs will be caught by hidden security cameras
HAMMOND- People dumping trash has become such a problem in Tangipahoa Parish, leaders are installing security cameras to catch people.
"If the cameras work, we're gonna get some more," Parish President Gordon Burgess told WWL TV.
"We're gonna clean up our parish whether the people like it or not," he said.
In 45 days, workers collected more than 1200 bags of trash. Cleaning up the mess costs as much as $200,000 a year, the station reported.
Cameras will be installed in the coming days in undisclosed locations.
