Skies will be overcast at times with a few peeks of sun at others, averaging out to a mostly cloudy day. Lingering showers will be relegated primarily to coastal locations south of Baton Rouge, although a spotty shower can't be ruled anywhere. Batches of thicker clouds will pass through the area as well with present satellite observations showing cloud cover stretching well back into Texas. Northeasterly winds and the pesky clouds should keep thermometers from rising beyond the lower 60s. Clearing skies this evening and tonight and the continued northeast breeze will send thermometers back into the lower 40s.
